Everett police investigate attempted abductions

EVERETT, Wash. — The Everett Police Department is investigating three abduction attempts in south Everett within a month.

According to police, a man tried to force a female into his car near the intersection of 75th Street Southeast and Evergreen Way on July 19. Later that day, there was a second abduction attempt near 92nd Street Southeast and 7th Avenue Southeast. On Aug. 16, police responded to a similar incident in the 5600 block of Wetmore Avenue.

Police said each case, the suspect threatened his victims with a black handgun, airsoft or BB gun. He wore a mask and demanded the victims to get in his car.

The suspect is described as white or Hispanic with a medium build. In each incident, the man fled in a dark-colored, four-door, compact-style car and possibly had a brown dog inside.

The victims in each case escaped unharmed.

Detectives are continuing their investigation.
