Drivers taking ferries from Colman Dock should prepare for street closure

SEATTLE — Drivers taking ferries from Colman Dock on the Seattle waterfront should allow extra time to get to and from the terminal during the coming weeks.

Marion Street between Alaskan Way and Western Avenue closed Tuesday as crews work to tear down the Alaskan Way Viaduct.

Drivers using the Marion Street exit to leave Colman Dock will need to turn north or south along Alaskan Way to navigate around the road closure.

The closure is scheduled to last through early April.

Walk-on passengers using Colman Dock also need to prepare for the upcoming closure of the Marion Street Pedestrian Bridge this weekend, March 30-31.

The bridge will be closed as a safety precaution while crews remove parts of the viaduct near the bridge.

Washington State Department of Transportation staff will be available from 3 to 6 p.m. Wednesday near the information booth inside terminal with additional details about the closure of the pedestrian bridge.

Anyone with questions about the road closure or demolition of the SR 99 Alaskan Way Viaduct can email viaduct@wsdot.wa.gov or call 1-888-AWV-LINE (298-5463).
