Driver in custody after fleeing from deputy, running over deputy's foot

LAKE STEVENS, Wash. — A 31-year-old woman is in custody after she fled from deputies and ran over a deputy’s foot Tuesday evening.

The incident started at 123rd Avenue Northeast and 60th Street Northeast, where deputies tried to stop a woman who had expired tabs on her vehicle.

Deputies said the driver ran over the deputy’s foot.

After a brief pursuit, the driver was taken into custody.

The Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office said the deputy is OK.
