Driver arrested after man dies in Ballard crash

SEATTLE — A 22-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a crash that killed one person.

Police said two cars collided head-on early Sunday morning in Ballard.

Police said a 22-year-old driver showed signs of impairment when he was evaluated by officers. He will be booked into the King County Jail after being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

The 22-year-old was carrying a passenger in his car. The passenger, a 34-year-old man, suffered critical injuries in the crash and was taken to Harborview, where he died.

The second car was occupied only by a driver, who was not seriously injured.

Detectives are investigating the crash.
