Donald Trump is expected to be campaigning in Washington state in early May ahead of the state’s primary.
The specifics of his campaign have not been released.
A reporter for The Columbian posted a video to her Twitter account of Donald Trump talking on the phone to the Clark, Washington, GOP headquarters.
In the call with Sen. Don Benton, Trump is heard saying that he plans to visit.
“It looks May 7 is the time. That would be the best day,” Trump said.
Washington state’s 18-day early voting period starts May 6. The primary is May 24.
“[If the Trump campaign] could get Washington, it would be unbelievable,” Trump said.
Trump had a landslide win in the latest primary in New York.
Washington state Republic Party has yet to post anything about Trump’s visit to its website.
Washington state Democrats Chair Jaxon Ravens released a statement after the video surfaced.
"Not only does Donald Trump have no chance to win Washington in November, but his appearance on the ballot will drag down down-ballot Republicans, like Bill Bryant and Chris Vance, significantly in their quests for statewide office. Donald Trump is marching the Washington Republican party to electoral disaster in November."
