The woman disappeared in the same area as where a 49-year-old man went missing nearly a week ago.  He reportedly slipped into the Skykomish River while on a walk. Crews said at the time of the man's search that the a "tremendous volume of water tumbling over the falls" made it extremely unsafe and dangerous to deploy divers into the water.

Sunset Falls is part of the South Fork Skykomish River. The falls drop 104 feet in a sloping, powerful chute.

It's the same location where another man disappeared earlier this month.

"These are pretty trecherous falls.  We had to pull dive teams back with the last rescue mission we did on the 17th, just because conditions were too dangerous," said Shari Ireton with the Snohomish County Sheriff's Office.

The Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office’s SnoHawk and a search and rescue team were looking for the woman.

Before 9:30 p.m., deputies said they had suspended the search for the night due to nightfall.

The woman is from Texas and was here visiting family.
