2-alarm fire rips through Renton home

(Puget Sound Fire)

RENTON, Wash. — Firefighters are monitoring hotspots after a two-alarm fire ripped through a home Saturday night in Renton.

Fire crews were called to 20300 SE 192nd St. after 4 p.m.

Crews said the fire started in the garage and spread to the house.

Puget Sound Fire officials said there was a call for additional resources to put out the fire because of its location down a long driveway and because there were limited fire hydrants in the area.

It took four fire engines to get water from hydrants to the home, officials said.

No one was injured but two people were displaced. The Red Cross was called and is providing assistance.

Officials said crews will be on the scene all night.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
