Crews tackled a brush fire along State Route 512 in Pierce County on Friday evening.
The fire started near Portland Avenue at about 5:15 p.m. and spread to about half a mile, Trooper Guy Gill tweeted.
There were traffic delays on SR 512 as crews worked to get the fire under control.
The fire had reached one home and threatened others.
Crews had the fire put out but remained at the scene.
Before 7:30 p.m., all lanes of SR 512 reopened.
