Crane used in renovation at Harbor Island tips forward

SEATTLE — Seattle Fire Department investigators are working to find out what caused a crane to tip over Friday on Harbor Island.

The incident happened at about 3 p.m.

Officials with the Port of Seattle said it was a concrete pile driving hammer crane and it tipped forward.

The crane was being used in the renovation of terminal 5, officials said.

No injuries were reported; however, one person was taken to the hospital out of an abundance of caution.

Officials said it was a contractor-related incident.
