Coast Guard searching for man near Clatsop Spit area

U.S. Coast Guard crews are searching for a man reported missing about 9:19 a.m. Wednesday in the Clatsop Spit area.

The 53-year-old man’s wife last heard from him via a text at 9:46 p.m. Tuesday, Coast Guard crews from Cape Disappointment said.

Local law agencies are also helping in the search for the man, the Coast Guard said.

The Clatsop Spit is at the mouth of the Columbia River in northwest Oregon.
