Childcare worker arrested in child porn investigation

SEATTLE — Authorities are working with Hutch Kids Child Care Center to provide information to parents after a childcare worker was arrested and charged Friday morning with possession of child porn.

According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, an individual reported that Kyle J. Tate, 34, had a child pornography collection and was sharing images.

Since Tate is employed in childcare, investigators immediately obtained a warrant to search his home and digital devices.

According to records, an initial review of devices showed images of child pornography.

Tate was arrested at his home.

Tate previously worked at other childcare programs in the Seattle area and as a music tutor, according to the Department of Justice. Authorities are working to identify these previous employers and provide them with information.

U.S. Immigration and Custom’s Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations unit is leading the investigation.
