Man shot, killed by police at Tacoma house fire

A man was shot and killed by Tacoma police officers at the scene of a house fire Sunday night.

Shortly before 11 p.m., fire crews were called to a fire at a residence near 59th and Fawcett avenues in Tacoma.

While headed to the scene, fire crews were made aware that there was an active shooter at the scene. They were held back until police could secure the scene.

Police said upon their arrival, the suspect was firing upon them. The suspect was shot by Tacoma police and died at the scene.
