SEATTLE - A 6-year-old boy suffered critical injuries when he fell from a third-story window in North Seattle on Sunday.
The accident happened at a townhouse on North 88th Street shortly after 5 p.m.
Seattle police said in a statement the boy was sitting on the sill of an open window blowing bubbles when he accidentally fell out.
Police said he has head and leg injuries. Firefighters said the boy sustained multiple fractures.
“I just heard all the sirens and saw the neighbor direct the police and ambulance, and I just met (the neighbors) last week. So I kind of followed it. Ten minutes later, I saw them take the kid out on a stretcher. (It was) kind of scary. It didn't look too good,” said neighbor Dylan Feldt.
Seattle police said both parents were home when the child fell.
Police said the window screen was either open or had been removed.
