SEATTLE — Despite a massive budget shortfall, Sound Transit is pushing ahead on its planned 8.5 mile extension from Northgate to Lynnwood — as part of ST2.
In fact, it's planning three open houses to encourage the public to get a look at the northend line and four stations expected to open in 2024. The new stations will be located in Shoreline at 145th and 185th, at the Mountlake Terrace Transit Center, and at the Lynnwood Transit Center. Check out the designs here.
Sound Transit says the extension includes 1,500 additional park-and-ride spaces in the corridor. Once finished, a rider will be able to get from Lynnwood to downtown Seattle in 28 minutes and to Bellevue in 51 minutes, according to the transit agency.
Open houses will held on the following dates:
Mountlake Terrace
Wednesday, June 13, Mountlake Terrace Senior Center, 23000 Lakeview Dr. 6-8 p.m.
Shoreline/Seattle
Wednesday, June 27, Shorewood High School, 17300 Fremont Ave. N. 6-8 p.m.
Lynnwood
Wednesday, July 25, Lynnwood Convention Center, 3711 196th St. S.W. 6-8 p.m
