SEATTLE — A 3-year-old is dead after a collision Sunday in Seattle’s Madison Valley neighborhood.
Police were called at about 4:45 p.m. to the 1800 block of 30th Avenue for a report of a collision involving a child who was seriously injured.
When officers arrived, they found the 3-year-old had suffered a major head injury, authorities said. Lifesaving measures were performed, but the child died at the scene, police said.
Investigators said they believe a driver of one of the vehicles struck a parked van the child was playing in, throwing the 3-year-old from the vehicle.
It is believed that the driver showed no signs of intoxication after a drug recognition expert tested the driver.
Police said detectives will work with the prosecutor’s office to determine if any charges will be filed.
