Firefighters rescue 3 people stranded on small island in Green River

AUBURN, Wash. — Valley Regional Fire has rescued three people who became stranded on a small island in the middle of the Green River in Auburn.

The fire department first reported the rescue at about 7:30 a.m. Tuesday.

The stretch of Green River where the three were stranded is near Fenster Park in the 2000 block of Fourth Avenue Southeast.

As of 7:45 a.m., the three had been loaded onto a boat and were being taken to shore.

No one was hurt.
