3 hurt in wild crash involving cars, bus, bicyclist and restaurant

SEATTLE — Three people were hurt in a crash involving a bus, a bicycle, a tow truck, some cars and a restaurant in Seattle’s Capitol Hill neighborhood.

The crash happened at Bellevue Avenue and East Pine Street in Seattle.

Police said the driver of a minivan was coming down Pine Street at about 8:30 a.m. Tuesday and struck two vehicles in the intersection.

The two cars slammed into a tow truck and the tow truck sideswiped a bicyclist. A Metro bus was also clipped in the crash.

Kenny Moh had a bird’s-eye view from a construction site.

“It kind of clipped him and sucked the bike under the truck. Luckily, the biker just took a bump and got off,” said Moh.

The bike ended up lodged under the tow truck and the tow truck hopped the curb and slammed into the the window of the Ramen & Izakaya restaurant.  No one was inside the building.

No one involved in the crashes was seriously hurt. The driver of a car was taken to the hospital to be checked out. The bicyclist had some scrapes.

The restaurant is open after cleaning and will replace the window.

Seattle police say crash specialists are investigating and a driver may be ticketed.
