1 dead in Ravenna house fire

SEATTLE — A man was found dead, and two others were hurt in a house fire Saturday afternoon in Seattle’s Ravenna neighborhood.

At about 1 p.m., crews responded to a report of a structure fire in the 7000 block of Ravenna Avenue Northeast.

Authorities said when crews arrived, the house was well involved, and they were told that there were possibly people inside.

Officials searched the home and found a man who died on the first floor, a firefighter said.

Two other people, a man and a woman, escaped. The woman was taken to Northwest Hospital and is in stable condition, fire officials said.

A firefighter was taken to Harborview Medical Center with minor injuries.

The American Red Cross was called to help those displaced at the home.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
