Light Rail train strikes pedestrian in South Seattle

SEATTLE — A light rail train has struck an elderly pedestrian at South Graham Street and Martin Luther King, Jr. Way.

The 76-year-old victim has been taken to Harborview Medical Center.

A police sergeant at the scene tells KIRO 7 Eyewitness News reporter Amy Clancy that South Graham will be closed for hours.  One lane of northbound Martin Luther King, Jr. Way is open.

Chopper 7 video showed the Central Link train was sstopped in place as police investigated, but Central Link light rail service has resumed regular operations at all stations with service delays, Sound Transit said.
