Latest Boeing Dreamliner, 787-9, makes maiden flight

Boeing's newest Dreamliner took off for its maiden flight Tuesday morning.
The 787-9 left from Everett’s Paine Field and will later land at Boeing field in Seattle.
The airplane is longer and can carry more passengers than the 787-8 that’s currently in production.
The development of the new jet has gone relatively smoothly compared to the last Dreamliner that was plagued by delays and battery problems.
If all goes as planned during the test flights and certification process, the jet will be delivered to the launch customer Air New Zealand next June.
