Landslide damages Whidbey Island homes

WHIDBEY ISLAND, Wash. — Three homes on Whidbey Island were damaged Wednesday when they were hit by a landslide, said officials with South Whidbey Fire.

Deputy Chief Mike Cotton said the landslide happened north of Possession Beach.

One house was moved off its foundation, and two have minor damage.

Some trees and mud moved around the homes.

Cotton said all three homes were unoccupied during the time of the slide, and no injuries were reported.
