Landslide causes giant cracks in Highway 101

ARTIC, Wash. — A landslide badly damaged a busy highway in Grays Harbor County near the town of Artic.

Photos from WSDOT showed large cracks in U.S. Highway 101.

Crews blame heavy rain for causing the land to crumble below part of the road, creating the slide.

The problem is bad enough that the Washington State Patrol ordered the speed limit to be cut from 55 mph to 35 mph.

On Tuesday, engineers will try to determine a fix.
