Lakewood police investigating fatal shooting

LAKEWOOD, Wash. — Officers are investigating a fatal shooting that happened at a Lakewood apartment Monday night.

Lakewood police Lt. Chris Lawler said officers were called to the Greenwood Apartments in the 5300 block of San Francisco Avenue Southwest for a report of shots fired around 9:45 p.m.

When they arrived they found a man with a gunshot wound to the abdomen.

Officers performed CPR on the man but he was later pronounced dead.

Police said they are investigating the shooting as a likely homicide.

Witnesses reported hearing an argument before the shooting.
