Woman attacked while jogging in Edmonds

EDMONDS, Wash. — Police are looking for a person of interest seen on video after a woman was attacked while jogging in Edmonds Tuesday morning.

Police said the 35-year-old woman was jogging in the 8800 block of Bowdoin Way at about 6:55 a.m. when someone ran up behind her, grabbed her around the shoulders and threw her to the ground.

When the woman fought back, screaming and kicking the man several times, the attacker ran away headed west on Bowdoin Way.

The victim then ran to a home in the area and called 911.  She was unhurt.

Edmonds police responded and searched with a K9 unit, but the man was not found.

The attacker is described as white, 5 feet 10 inches to 6 feet tall and was wearing a light-colored hooded sweatshirt and gray sweatpants.

A neighbor in the area provided video of a person of interest who was in the area after the attack. Police say his clothing is similar to what was described by the victim.
