It focuses on a year when Hendrix moved to London in the 1960s and evolved into a spectacular rock star; at the time, he was nothing more than a backup guitarist.

The festival begins Friday and continues through June 8.

Locations include SIFF Cinema Uptown, Pacific Place, Lincoln Square, Renton IKEA Performing Arts Center, among others.

Featured films include “The Case Against 8,” a documentary following the battle to overturn California’s Proposition 8; “Beyond the Brick: A LEGO Brickumentary”; “Clownwise”; “Dior and I”; “Trust Me”; and Supermensch: The Legend of Shep Gordon.”
