JOINT BASE LEWIS-MCCHORD, Wash. — Families welcomed home 130 Joint Base Lewis-McChord soldiers on Saturday.
The soldiers form the core of NATO International Security Task Force Joint Command Headquarters and have been in Afghanistan for one year.
KIRO 7 Eyewitness News spoke with Tedra LaRonde and she said she has done the deployment separation before with her husband, Scott LaRonde, a lieutenant colonel.
“This is our third deployment in seven years,” Tedra LaRonde said. “Very exciting, I can’t wait for him to come home.”
LaRonde and her children spotted Scottt LaRonde and were reunited with him.
Many of the soldiers plan to honor the fallen on Memorial Day.
