Investigators say fire at Ballard church is arson

A fire at a Ballard church that forced hundreds to flee during Sunday services is arson, investigators said.
The fire started shortly after noon at Ballard Church on Northwest 73rd Street.
The flames and smoke sent close to 300 people scrambling out of the sanctuary during worship services.  No one was hurt.
Crews said the fire was isolated to a bathroom inside the church.
Damage is estimated at $70,000.
Anyone with information about the arson is asked to call police.
