Inmate who escaped corrections facility taken into custody

Authorities located and took into custody an inmate who escaped from the Olympic Corrections Center near Forks Thursday night.

FORKS, Wash. — Police were looking for 37-year-old Aaron Richard Brown III.

Officials with the Department of Corrections said Brown was last seen at the corrections center’s dining hall at about 4:37 p.m. Thursday.

Authorities said Brown was apprehended at 9:30 a.m. Friday about 10 miles north of the corrections center.

Brown is an inmate who was serving time for a drug conviction. He arrived at the corrections center Wednesday from the Washington Corrections Center in Shelton.

Multiple agencies searched for Brown.

Staff members at the corrections center are investigating how Brown escaped.
