• Alert neighbor leads officers to body in car

SHORELINE, Wash. - A 911 call from a Shoreline resident who noticed a vehicle pulled over on the side of the road for several hours sparked a suspicious death investigation overnight.

Officers with the Shoreline Police Department responded to the area of 5th Avenue Northeast and Northeast 174th Street sometime around 1 a.m. Wednesday.

They found a red, two-door Honda Accord with its hazard lights on, pulled over on the side of Northeast 174th Street.

The driver's side window open about 6 inches and officers could see the body of a man inside a car.

Investigators said it was still too early to know if they are dealing with a homicide or a suicide but they said a weapon was not in plain sight.

A homicide detective was waiting on a search warrant to begin the investigation inside of the vehicle. By 4:30 a.m., the King County Medical Examiner's Office had arrived.
