SEATTLE - A homeowner who caught a burglar in his house tackled the suspect, and though he managed to get away, he was quickly captured by officers.
Seattle police spokeswoman Renee Witt said police received a call about a burglary in the 3800 block of Northeast 98th Street.
The homeowner told officers he chased the man out of the house and tackled him, but the burglar got away.
Responding officers said they spotted the burglar running through yards and jumping fences trying to get away.
Police said the man was found hiding in some bushes in the 10300 block of 39th Avenue Northeast, where officers took him into custody.
Chopper 7 was overhead as police searched the man. Officers were seen doing high-fives in celebration.
The homeowner positively identified the suspect as the burglar.
