Hazmat crew responds to PLU campus after reported chemical spill

A hazmat team was called in Friday night after a reported chemical spill at Pacific Lutheran University, said an official with Central Pierce Fire and Rescue.

TACOMA, Wash. — The incident happened at the campus’ science building where security guards spotted the spill.

After crews responded to the scene, the building was evacuated.

According to Randy Stephens of CPFR, the chemical spill and odor was discovered in a storage room in the building.

The hazmat team was not able to locate the spill.

No injuries were reported.
