SEATTLE - A man was arrested in West Seattle Friday night after he tried to elude police in a stolen vehicle and broke into a home to hide, authorities said.
The incident started after 8:30 p.m. in the 4800 block of 47th Southwest.
Police said they were looking for a man driving a stolen Tahoe with a LoJack system. Seattle police, Washington State Patrol, King County Sheriff’s Office and the Sheriff’s Office’s helicopter Guardian One responded to help with the search.
According to police, officers found the vehicle in an alley behind houses but the man tried to elude police. The man stopped his vehicle, got out and ran on foot.
The man then broke into a nearby home, where he used to live.
Police surrounded the home and gave the man warnings while waiting for a search warrant.
Authorities said a couple hours later the man surrendered and was taken into custody.
The man was booked into the King County Jail for investigation of auto theft and burglary.
