Gary Payton to get 'up close and personal' during Torchlight Parade

Gary "the Glove" Payton said he's going to have a ball as Grand Marshal of the Alaska Airlines Seafair Torchlight Parade.
The former Sonic and future basketball Hall of Famer said, "I'm gonna make up my own rules."
Payton doesn't intend to just sit on the back of a car and smile and wave like a beauty queen. He promised to jump off whatever vehicle he's on and get more interactive with the crowd.
"I will take pictures, I will shake hands, I will hug, I will kiss, whatever you want," said Payton.
KIRO 7 will have a camera pointed at Payton the entire time, so you can see exactly what's he's doing during Torchlight Saturday.
Payton said it's a honor to serve as Grand Marshal of the parade.
Although he grew up in Oakland, he played 13 years for the Seattle Sonics and he considers Seattle to be his second home.
