Garage fire damages Bremerton home

BREMERTON, Wash. — Crews quickly extinguished a fire in the garage of a Bremerton home Friday night, said officials with Central Kitsap Fire and Rescue.

The fire happened at a home in the 4000 block of Northwest Longfellow Place.

Crews responded to the location after a neighbor called 911 after 5 p.m. reporting that they saw smoke coming from the home.

When crews arrived, smoke was coming from the garage of the home.

Firefighters checked the home to ensure nobody was inside. The house was unoccupied, but two dogs were removed and secured by the firefighters.

Crews lifted the garage door and saw flames inside.  The fire was quickly extinguished.

No injuries were reported.

The fire is not considered suspicious and the cause is still under investigation.
