Man found dead after truck rolls 25 times at off-road park

PIERCE COUNTY, Wash. — Searchers have found the body of a 23-year-old man whose friend hiked all night to get help after their truck rolled about 25 times down a hill at an all-terrain vehicle park.

The 21-year-old survivor said he and the victim went over an embankment Wednesday near Mount Rainier National Park.

The 21-year-old said his friend was unresponsive when he left to get help.  The 21-year-old hiked all night until he came to Carbonado and called 911.

East Pierce fire and search and rescue personnel reached the vehicle on a hillside near a dirt road to Evans Creek from State Route 165.  They followed a trail of blood from the vehicle to the victim's body.

Crews initially believed the victim was ejected from the truck, but said he may have exited the vehicle on his own.

Video from Chopper 7 showed the vehicle resting on its roof in a wooded area.
