NORTH BEND, Wash. - Firefighters have a wildfire on Mount Si under control, said officials with the Department of Natural Resources.
Crews have been battling the wildfire, which started as one acre and grew to about two acres Friday. Crews assembled near 444th Avenue Southeast and Mt. Si Road in North Bend. The Washington Department of Natural Resources was at the scene to help control the fire, and a helicopter dropped water to put it out.
“Currently, there are about six engine companies engaged, and the North County Handline Team – made up of Eastside, Duvall, and other departments - has been requested to respond,” Eastside Fire and Rescue Deputy Chief Bud Backer said in a statement.
There have been no evacuations and trails are still open.
