Firefighters battle apartment, brush fire in Renton

RENTON, Wash. - Fire officials said a four-alarm fire damaged multiple apartment buildings Saturday afternoon, and the fire has spread to nearby brush.

Crews responded to a report of a commercial fire in the 1400 block of South 18th Street at about 2 p.m.

Skyway fire officials initially said the fire was a two-alarm fire. It then increased to a four-alarm fire.

Crews from Renton, Skyway, Tukwila, Kent, SeaTac, South King Valley Regional, King County Medical 1 and East Pierce were at the scene.

Fire officials have not said if there were any injuries.

Three buildings at the Regency Woods Apartment were destroyed and two buildings were heavily damaged, according to fire officials. 

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
