Firefighter hurt in North Seattle house fire

SEATTLE — A firefighter was injured early Saturday morning after battling a house fire in North Seattle.

The fire happened at a home in the 1000 block of Northeast 100th Street.

Crews responded to the scene after a report of a house fire after 12:30 a.m.

Officials with the Seattle Fire Department told KIRO 7 Eyewitness News that one firefighter received throat burns and no one inside the home was hurt.

The Red Cross has provided emergency assistance for one adult and two children.

There was extensive damage to the first floor of the home.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
