Fire destroys home near Covington

A fire ripped through a home near Covington Tuesday night, said fire officials.

COVINGTON, Wash. — The fire happened at 18705 Southeast Covington-Sawyer Road before 10 p.m.

King County Fire District 44 spokesman Tim Perciful said when crews arrived, 50 percent of the house was in flames.

Residents in the home evacuated but two dogs may have been inside. The Red Cross is assisting the two adults who evacuated.

There were no injuries during the time of the fire.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
