EVERETT, Wash. - A fire damaged an apartment Sunday morning, said officials with the Everett Fire Department.
The fire happened at an apartment complex in the 10000 block of Holly Drive at about 9 a.m.
When firefighters arrived at the scene, smoke and flames were seen from a second floor apartment and burning into a third floor unit.
A second alarm was called to the location, and crews extinguished the flames.
Residents safely evacuated the apartment.
One person was evaluated for smoke inhalation, but declined further evaluation or treatment. Two dogs were treated at the scene for smoke inhalation and quickly recovered.
There were no injuries to the firefighters.
Damage to the building is estimated at $200,000, and the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
