Fans fly out for Seahawks-Redskins playoff game

SEATTLE — Many Seattle Seahawks fans made their way to Washington, D.C. for Sunday’s game against the Washington Redskins.

One of the last direct flights to D.C. at Sea-Tac Airport left Saturday afternoon and there were many fans on board.

KIRO 7 Eyewitness News reporter James Schugel spoke with excited fans that flew out.

“We’re all for the Seahawks. Go Hawks, go,” said Drake Berry.

Berry and his family have been waiting all season to follow the team into the playoffs.

“We literally decided Wednesday morning to go. We bought tickets, went online, bought some tickets for the game, booked airline tickets and booked a hotel. We’re on our way,” said Berry.

The Seahawks finished the regular season 11-5, which included a perfect 8-0 record at home. The team left Friday afternoon for D.C.

“At the beginning of the year, who thought we’d be in the playoffs? Nobody! We were picked to be third in our Division, and here we are. We’re ready to go,” said Chris Berry. “Now that they’re joined together as a team, we can do it.”

Chris Berry and her family have had season tickets for more than three decades, and they hope to come back home with a Seahawks win.

“I love the Seahawks. Love the Seahawks, and I go to a game away every year. Definitely the playoffs. Can’t miss that,” said Seahawks fan Lisa Silver.

Fans told KIRO 7 they followed the team all season, and are not going to stop.
