Everett hit-and-run victim left with damaged spinal cord

For Scotty Becktell, this first day of physical therapy signifies hope.
"Hopefully that I can someday walk again," Becktell said.
While he knows his voice and bandaged limbs will eventually heal, the damage to his spinal cord is more uncertain.
He said he is glad he alive after  being hit by a car at the intersection of 128th Street and 8th Ave West in Everett on January 23rd.
The impact threw him 15 feet in the air.
The last memory Becktell has is of being in the crosswalk.
He was on his way to work at his job at McDonald's.
"I think they should just turn themselves in," Becktell added.
The best lead so far is this surveillance video of the car right before Becktell was hit.
He wants the driver to fully grasp how they've changed his life.
"I've been paralyzed from belly button down and I'm going to need help for the rest of my life," he said.
Snohomish County deputies say the car should have damage on the front passenger side and possibly on the passenger side, too.
Other than that, they have little to go on.
They don’t even know what kind of car it was.
"I'm more disappointed another human being could do that," cousin Michael Trettevik said. "Leave someone on the side of the road for dead."
Family members like Trettevik have been at Beckell's side since he was hospitalized.
In addition to hope, that's what's keeping Becktell going.
"All the support I have from family and friends," he said.

Do you recognize this car? The Snohomish County Sheriff's Dept says it was involved in a hit and run accident on January...
