Elderly woman struck by vehicle in Pacific

 Pacific police said an elderly woman was hit by a vehicle Saturday night.

PACIFIC, Wash. — The collision happened after 7 p.m. when authorities responded to a report of a vehicle that hit a pedestrian in the 500 block of First Avenue.

When crews arrived, a woman in her 80s was on the roadway. She was breathing and conscious, but not responsive.

Police noticed the woman had head injuries and she was taken to Harborview Medical Center. Her current condition is unknown.

According to police, the driver of the vehicle was traveling westbound while the woman was crossing the roadway. The low-setting sun contributed to the circumstances surrounding the collision.

The collision is still under investigation.
