Postal Express truck crash sends boxes of medical supplies into creek near Leavenworth

LEAVENWORTH, Wash. — The Washington State Patrol is asking the public to report any shipping packages found along Peshastin Creek from milepost 184 to US 97 downstream to the Wenatchee River.

Around 8:30 a.m. Saturday a Postal Express truck was involved in a collision on US 97, six miles southeast of Leavenworth. Public Information Officer Trooper Brian Moore sent out this tweet with information on the crash:

According to Washington State Patrol most of the contents are harmless medical supplies, but some of the packages could pose a risk if unsealed. As water levels recede, more packages could become exposed.
