She was waiting at the bus stop at 68th Avenue Northeast and Northeast 190th Street in Kenmore when she says a man pulled up in a white truck with a trailer attached and red gasoline cans in the back. She said he told her to "come here."

According to a letter sent out by the principal of Kenmore Elementary, Melissa Riley, the girl ran and said the man left the truck and followed her on foot. The girl quietly hid as that man called for her. She said he finally left and she came out as the bus was arriving.

Riley stated in her letter, "Your child's safety is a top priority at Kenmore Elementary. We attempt every precaution to ensure your students are safe and secure at school, and we want to partner with you to ensure that students are safe when they travel to and from school and are in our community."

She encouraged parents to use the incident as an opportunity to talk to their kids about safety and encourage them to walk in groups, never get into a stranger's vehicle, and stay away from deserted places, like cutting through empty parking lots.

District security will be at the bus stop on Monday morning.
