Driver who struck and killed a pedestrian likely intoxicated

PORT ANGELES, Wash. — 49-year-old Bonita Bickford was stuck by a vehicle and killed while crossing US 101 in Port Angeles just after 8 p.m. Monday night.

Washington State Patrol Deputies responded to the scene. They believe the 49-year-old female driver was under the influence of drugs or alcohol at the time of the crash.

The driver was not injured and has been taken into custody. She faces possible vehicular homicide charges.
