ISSAQUAH, Wash. - A driver was pulled away from a burning vehicle early Friday after he collided with three vehicles, police said.
Just after midnight, an officer attempted to pull over a vehicle for a routine traffic stop in Issaquah, but the the driver failed to stop, shut off his headlights and drove away at a high speed.
The officer did not continue to follow.
Police said the officers checked the surrounding area, and found the driver had collided with three parked cars in the 4700 block of West Lake Sammamish Parkway Southeast. The driver's vehicle was engulfed in flames.
The 24-year-old Issaquah driver climbed out the window and collapsed. He was pulled away from the burning vehicle by two officers.
Eastside Fire and Rescue arrived at the scene, and extinguished the fire.
The driver was taken to Overlake Hospital to be treated, and he was listed in satisfactory condition.
The incident is still under investigation.
