Dog killed, 2 other pets missing in Spanaway fire

SPANAWAY, Wash. — A dog was killed and two other pets are missing after a home in Spanaway caught fire Friday morning.

Central Pierce fire spokesman Randy Stephans said a man was at the home in the 15400 block of Fair Oaks Drive South when the fire broke out.

To escape, the man had to break a window to get out and suffered minor injuries, Stephans said.

A dog died in the fire, and another dog is missing, as well as a snake.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
