A man is wanted for a sexual assault in Belltown, and police are asking for the public’s help identifying him.
The attack happened shortly after 1 a.m. Jan. 18 near Second Avenue and Clay Street. The woman who was attacked did not know the man, who fled after the sexual assault.
Police described him as a Hispanic man in his mid-20s or early 30s with short hair and a stocky build. He is about 5-foot-8 and wore a dark coat, sweatshirt and long baggy shorts.
“If anyone has any information about this crime, or maybe was in the area on that date and time and may have witnessed something, they are urged to contact the Sexual Assault Unit at (206) 684-5575,” Detective Mark Jamieson said in a statement.
Police did not immediately release additional details.
