Divers search for 55-year-old man in Spanaway Lake

SPANAWAY, Wash. — A dive team is looking for the body of a 55-year-old man in Spanaway Lake, authorities said.

According to Central Pierce Fire and Rescue, a man was reported missing just before 4 p.m. Sunday.

Fire officials said the man was on an inner tube that was being pulled by a boat.

The man had been wearing a life jacket, but it slipped off.

Firefighters ended their search for the man and handed the recovery operation over to a dive team with the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office.

The dive team will use specialized equipment to help with the search.
